I would go to the ER. It's better to be safe than sorry, if anything they can give you an IV so you dont' become dehydrated.
Good Luck to you and your new family!

Ok first of all throwing up does not mean that you are having a misscaraige. Actually there have been studys done that show that women who experience morning sickness have a lower misscaraige rate. So with that info try to think of it as a good thing. Second if you go to the ER they are going to give you a shot of Phenergran and stick an IV in you and pump you with fluids. Now as far as the phenergran goes it is great for nausea and vomiting but it will nock you out. It is safe for the baby but it is going to make you really really sleepy. The IV fluids are ok but paying the money to the hopsital when you can take care of this at home, you decide what you want to do. If you docide to wait it out here is what you should do. Suck on ice cubes, or lick pop sickles. I say lick because if you bit it then it will be enough to make you throw up. Look for signs of dehydration. I have listed them for you:
dizziness, general feeling of weakness
less urine output
dry mouth
thirst
difficulty in swallowing dry foods
dry skin/lips
here is when it is reccomended to call the doctor:
little or no urine output for 12 hours or more
if urine is dark in color
dizziness while standing up or fainting
feeling of confusion
It is totally normal to go through this during the first 3 to 4 months of pregnancy. I am still going through it and I am at 11 weeks. It sucks but it will end eventually if not in 3 to 4 months then in 9 months. As far as your job. If you cannot sit in the class room all day then you will end up getting fired. From my experience there is no job in the world that will let you miss a few days of orientation. This is a decision you need to make. Can you tough it out or would you do better if you were at home? But you also have to ask yourself can you aford not to work? What about medical insurance to pay for your prenatal care, and all of the expenses you will incur just in pregnancy alone not tomention all of the expenses once the baby is born. Do you have a partner that makes enough money to support you? I wish you good luck and I hope that this has helped you.

You are not having a miscarriage.. I had really bad "morning sickness" at the beginning of my pregnancy... I literately could not even eat dry crackers, Cheerios or water I threw it all up. What was a little help was pedielite freeze pops... you have to stay hydrated. There is really not much to do about the nausea but it will pass once you are about 20 weeks. Try those pops have someone go to the store for you... or like myself go to the store yourself, they should be in the baby section, but not frozen yet... I feel for ya girl.. I went through it and it was no fun... Call out of work and rest because you don't want to risk the babies health... but YOU have to stay hydrated.

If you work at the Hospital or a Doctors office that's the best place to be if you're sick...that's the way staff think when you work in a Medical facility. Don't jeopardize your future..Medical is a great career and you might need it later to help support yourself and your baby if you are pregnant.
Congratulations if you are it's a blessed gift..
Always go to work when working in a Medical facility and let THEM (supervisor) tell you that you don't look so well.
Express your feelings...THEY'LL (your supervisor) send you to employees health clinic and the Doctor's there will order all sorts of lab work and urine test to see if you're pregnant, ( keep in mind that if you start to work there you'll have the biggest Baby Shower you'll probably ever have in your life) and they may even prescribe something to help you with the sickness you're experiencing that you can take even while pregnant that won't harm the baby just in case you are pregnant.
They'll send you home to rest.

With my first pregnancy, I threw up continually for the first three months. I can't even tell you how many times I was in the ER. If it continues, call your doctor or go to the ER. They are not going to be able to do much for you other than give you IV fluids and keep your blood sugar stable. However, every time I went to the Hospital and had IV fluids I was able to eat and keep it down. Severe dehydration can also make you throw up. To give you a perspective, I lost 16 lbs in my first trimester. When I delivered my daughter I was only 5 lbs heavier than my natural weight. In case you are wondering she is now 8 yrs. old. Small in regards to weight but otherwise healthy. Keep your chin up and try not to worry. It can be tough but those little babies are worth it.

If you wait till the morning you will be fine, just go 1st thing. you might become dehydrated and need fluids in an IV. I had to. but I was puking non stop for over a week. So don't wait much longer, but just rest tonight. And please don't think you are having a miscarriage.....throwing up does NOT mean you are having a miscarriage....just that you are having "morning" sickness. Good Luck....and remember, it will be over by the 3rd or 4th month, so hang in there!! :)
ps. My doctor prescribed a few oral disinegrating tabs of Zofran, only to take on the days I felt really horrible, ask yours what s/he thinks of that....and my baby was fine!!

My wife is 4 months pregnant and she also had the same problem. she was throwing up everything on a daily basis. I suggest that you go straight to your doctor ASAP, he should perscribe something for you that will prevent you from throwing up all the time. It worked great for my wife and i hope that it will also work for you. Also, there is no need to quit unless the doctor tells you so. Goodluck.

Call your OBGYN. Someone is always on call, and they can tell you what to do. You may have to go to the hospital to get a shot to ease the nausea or have an IV of fluids put in.

my best friend got pretty bad morning sickness when she was first preg. I'll call someone you know who has been pregnant and ask them. Or, if you call your regular doc, and ask if there is an advice nurse you can talk to. Or even call an ER and ask if there is a nurse to talk to or if they know of a number to call for advice.
But if you can't keep ANYTHING down it could be food poisoning or something and maybe should go to the doc to just be safe.
