Recently I have managed to convince about 30 per cent of the people on this site that I have put my friends hamster in a shoe filled with slushie, electricuted it and put it in a blender to give back to him. Do you think people are becoming way too gulible? And if people believe this why are we suprised when Bush is re-elected?

Don't understand the 'Can you say election..?' comment. An election is made up of people who vote. Therefore, someone very gulible did in fact vote for Bush...so what is your point?

I just got another election comment. I still don't get your point. I understand what an election is but I don't understand what it's got to do with my question.

If I used the question 'Why is Bush in power?' then you could use the election comment. As I am using a different question form entirely it has a different meaning. If you are unsure please refer to a grammer dictionary.

LOL!!!! No, it doesn't suprise me at all.... the fact that dumbarse Yanks voted for him the first time around... we could put down to an error in judgement... but to do it again, is just stupidity.
But surely they all can't be stupid? So it must be just the majority.

Bush was re-elected because the way that the election process works is flawed. Americans won't admit it but that is the way it is. Given the present situation it is too easy for the incumbent President to lose under this scheme. The Democrats don't have a suitable candidate and this also contributed to the fact that Mr. Bush is back in. It happened here too in Canada, we re-elected a jerk Prime Minister Jean Chretien who happened to be the encumbent. Finally his government was ousted after it was discovered they gave away millions of dolllars of taxpayer money on paying ad firms to convince Quebecers that they should remain part of Canada during a National Referendum. It was later found out that the money was never spent but just pocketed by ad firms. No traces of the money were ever kept. In about 5 years after Mr. Bush's term is over the voters in the USA will find out just how much money went to Haliburton or some other company because of the war in Iraq. By this time however George will be opening his Presidential library and no one will give a crap!

“Naturally the common people don't want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor in Germany. That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.”

Anne Richards, Jim Maddox, Al Gore, John Kerry.
A frosted flake, an idiot, an enviromentalist nut, and a lair.
No, it's not a surprise at all that George W. Bush was elected both Governor of the state of Texas and President of the United States - twice.

Well, frequently, in this plutocracy we vote for the guy who appears the least unattractive politician.
Do any of us truly know for what the man stands? How many policies are actually declared prior to being elected into office?
Remember: even if you don't want to vote for any of those proffered for election, you must go and deface your card. It is the mark of a true and honest citizen that they will bother to vote, but they also count the defaced cards.

No offense but your example/analogy is a bit extreme. That said however I have good news... President Dumb A** will not be re-elected, and will be historically noted as one of the worst of his kind. Sadly we have to endure him for a bit more than another year, and could experience disasters far greater than 911 or Katrina.
I'm not saying either of those can be directly attributed to GW, but I'd rather be put in a shoe filled with slushie, and electrocuted than to have to put up with his nonsense any longer.

20% of the people who answered the question believed you. 99% of the people who saw the question just shook their heads in disgust, and never answered.
Over 62 million people voted for Bush in the 2004 election, 59 million voted for Kerry, and 120 million just didn't give a damn either way, and didn't bother to vote.

Bush was reelected because the Liberal Dummycratic party picked two losers to run against him. They also managed to waste millions on radicals like Dean and wimps like Gore in the primaries. Guess who will win the seat in 2008?? Not Hillary she will go down in flames because radicals will want someone who can scream like dean to head the ticket. Who did You vote for or did you even bother to vote?? Kerry was pushed by his wife to run and could not pick the toilet paper without her pointing out what she wanted.
