Nowadays, with the gender gap being narrowed, do women now actually have more rights than men?
For example, many women want equal wages and pay but still expect for the man to hold the door and pay the bill.
Women want to have equal oppurtunity yet they get to evade drafts. Also, one can't deny the advantage a woman has in court (A male gets harsher punishment than a woman does for committing the same crime, such as rape).
Are those really equal rights or do women just want the pluses of equal rights. Shouldn't it be "equal rights, equal responsibility"?

Shows that people want the man to pay the dinner bill and be a "gentleman". Again, being a "gentleman" means that the guy is doing more and the girl gets to freeloads. That's superior rights in that women are being treated like ladies but except equal wages.

I agree with you. We scream "equality" every chance we get, but when Bush declared war on Iraq, we were hiding behind our brothers saying "If there's a draft, it won't apply to women, right?"
We need to make up our minds. Me? I am somewhat of the "anti-feminist." I believe that women are lucky to have the choices that we do now. I'm grateful to the women who fought for our right to choose the courses our lives will take, but I do not believe that we can "have it all."
I work in an office of all women. Every week at leaset one of them will need to leave early to care for their kid, one will call in sick because the babysitter didn't show, and one will take an extended lunch to take their kids to some appointment. If I were a man, I would feel entitled to my higher wage and supior position in the company.

I don't think that the gender gap is as narrow as you think it is. Women still make less money than most men, even if their job is the same. To me, the man's money should be used for bills and women's money for recreation and other things, since she is making less.
Women fight to get into the draft, but even if they didn't they have to stay on the home front to take care of the home/children/economy. How is a women suppose to take care of her and her husbands children if both are in a war?
Everyone gets punished for crimes, and it depends on the State how strong the punishment is.
equal rights, equal responsibility cannot happen unless EVERYONE is willing to change.

If you don't want women leaving work for their kids that both parents made then there should be daycare at all workplaces. A women should have the same wages as men, home many single father are there compared to single mothers?
Until men take more responsiblity with the children there will never be equal rights.

Woman DO want equal rights. I know this sounds weird, but woman are actually more fragile than guys.
But woman should have equal rights. I mean, not being able to vote, not being able to read the newspaper, having lesser wages, not being able to do the same jobs as guys? That's absolutely rediculous! Woman ARE people too. BUT, holding the door? Paying the bill? That's men being men. It's just how it goes. Maybe it'll change in the future.

Who said women want doors held open and bills paid for them? And there is no draft now, but chances are women won't be safe either. I haven't read enough on crimes to know which gender gets the harsher punishment.

Very good points. Also, why do women keep trying to get to where men are at. If we are equal, theres no need to catch up. There should be co-ed everything if equality is there. Co-ed bathrooms especially.

I AM A WOMAN,BUT I AGREE WITH YOU. FEMINISTS HAVE BEEN SCREAMING EQUAL RIGHTS FOR YEARS. IF THEY WANT TO BE EQUAL I THINK THEY SHOULD HAVE IT PLUS ALL THE EXTRAS THAT COME WITH IT. IF THEY ARE EQUAL,THEN IT SHOULD BE IN ALL ASPECTS JUST LIKE THE MEN. THEY CAN'T PICK AND CHOOSE. I WILL PROBABLY PISS OFF SOME FEMALES HERE.I'M SORRY,BUT THIS IS MY OPINION.
