Good quesiton, but I don't think they are really "closet" racists, I think most of them are pretty comfortable being racits, bigots, chauvenists, and, oh, yeah, christians too.

The better question would be how come there are so many "closet republicans". Think about it. No one ever votes Republicans into office, yet here they are.
No body on the planet voted for Bush, yet here he is.
No body ever voted for a Republican Senator, yet they control the Senate.
Bush is a racist. Just ask Collin Powell, Condoleeza Rice or Mr. Pineta. Not the Honorable Mayor Nagin of New Orleans, who envisions a rebuilt "chocolate" New Orleans, "as it should be". Certainly not Her Majesty Hillary Clinton, who just last week referred to Gandhi as a convenience store operator. Yup. Dixie-crats in office. That'll level the playing field.

It's an issue on this board much more so than what I've seen in real life. Unless, of course, these are people who would appear to be normal, decent Republicans in the real world, but let their true selves come out behind the anonymity of the internet and that racism is much more rampant than I originally thought.

they are in the closet only when they feel they should be, most are out of their closet all day long. you are just not aware of it. why do you think that they are all republicans? democrats? a racists is a racists.
