did you try going there, was it a unique place, what were your observation with their customs both the negative and positive

I love the Philippines, the culture and the people. I work for a company that has offices in there and the people are the best. They are very kind and fun. You will not meet nicer people. Manila is great and tThe beaches are fantastic

Depends on where you go. The capital is not that great of a place. It's either very humid or very rainy. You need to go more south to the beaches (like Palawan) or go see the rice terraces or the Chocolate Hills. Baguio City is also nice. As for customs, most people do speak good enough English, unless you go to a really rural area. Generally, people are polite.

However, you need to watch out for pickpocketers, especially at the airport. You'll especially be a target if you obviously look foreign. They'll assume you're rich. And like someone already said, it's not a good place for tourists these days because of the Abu Sayaf terrorist group that's linked to the Al Qaeda.

Is it unique? In some ways, if you go to those tourist spots I previously mentioned. Otherwise, its cities (like Manila) just remind me of Tijuana, Mexico.

I love them. Also married to one. The country is a third world. The politicians are very corrupt. But what country does not have that problem? The government keep their people very poor and there is very little opportunity for advancement. The only way to make ends meet are to have a relative that lives and works in another country.

Philippines? lots of beautiful beaches, 8th wonder of the world rice terraces, magnificent chocolate hills, largest eagles, hudreds of languages, friendly people, what else you need? You go philippines and discover..

philippines is a tropical country, best interms of food, tourist got no problem with food, bcoz u philippines have, chinese, japanese, thai american food and etc . .in terms of climate, not too cold not too hot . . .cost of living very low, compare to other countries . . yes philippines got problem with the government . .what country now who has no problem with the government?

i dont think anything about them... but i read that malysia is more beautiful than philip and the ppl in malysia is better....
and also that the life in ophilip is dangerou for tourism
