Because the pictures you seen on billboards are dressed up to look enticing for you to come by their burgers. The chances of the burger that you see on the billboard ever having been real in the first place is slim. Most of the time during photoshoots for stuff like that, they use prop food.

I saw a tv show on that once, but it's been so long ago I can't remember what it was called.

The picture on the billboard is made to perfection. The kid being paid $5.50/hr could care less what the burger he is making looks like. He just wants quitting time to roll around so he can go see his girl.

You guys are babies. It is a picture, the real thing never looks like the picture. I work in fast food, and I hate it when people say where is the black bowl for my soup. It's a picture dumb idiot, besides it is a fast food joint, so why should you expect your food to be on fine china. Get a life people. Fast food will kill you.

Well, aside from wanting it to look better, it is sometimes a long process to get the photography (or particularly, TV ads) to work out right. The food you see in ads is frequently made of wax or plastic since real lettuce, onions, etc. would rapidly deteriotate under the heat of the lighting needed for good ad photos.

I know where you are coming from. All restaurants are good at deceiving people with their nice fancy pictures. I'm always disappointed when I order something that I saw in a picture only to get a pile of crap.

I wonder this all the time myself. I did order a hamburger recently at a Burger King, and I told them, sort of jokingly, but not totally, that I wanted it to look like the picture. Believe it or not, when they gave me my burger, it was close.

the food on the billboards and the commercials aren't actually the food they're selling. most of the food has cheese in it and when that food is being filmed, the cheese would melt under the extreme light...so they use fake food to make the commercials and photographs.
