In what ways would you deal with your grief if a guy friend you had committed suicide? How would you react if he either committed suicide in front of you or you found his body?

i would feel guilty, because if i'm his friemd how come i didnt have a clue that he's thinking about suicide. why didnt i notice that he's in a mess. that he needs help. maybe if im more astute i would be able to help him... but then whats done is done. Regrets won't work- robbie williams sang. so get a move on and once in awhile, i'll send a prayer for him.... may god forgive his sin

I would probably go into shock or something. It would be something terrible that could never be forgotten; it would haunt someone for the rest of their lives I would think. I would be very upset and sad that I didn't realize how serious the situation was and that I didn't do more to stop my friend from doing such a horrible thing. I sat by a guy in college and we talked sometimes and drew on each others papers when we were bored in class, he took his life that year and I always wondered if I should have known how bad his situation was, and if I could have been a better friend to him, and this was someone that I didn't really know that well. I can't imagine a close friend doing this. There is nothing that is worth taking your own life for.

This happened to a friend of mine. Thankfully she never found him nor did he do it in front of her. But the pain he caused lasted with her for years. It make no sense that someone would be so selfish and inconsiderate as to commit suicide just to hurt someone he supposedly loves. It really took a long time to just grieve and figure it out herself. She went to concealers and talked to anyone and everyone who would listen and be sympathetic. And for all those that had a say the consensus is that her boyfriend was stupid, had the nerve and plain dumb to think that there would be any justice by way of suicide.

I would probably have to get someone to help me through it if he committed suicide in front of me or I found his body - if it didn't cause me to go immediately insane, that is.

I really don't know, because I usually am very composed, until it hits me. When my father died I did not cry until a few days after the funeral. So honestly, would probably have a blank look on my face.
P.S. he was still in his bed when I saw him(my Dad),he just looked like he was sleeping. I was the second to see him after my mom.

You would probably seek counseling and cry allot especially if it was a close friend! Don"t go through it alone talk about it to friends, family, your pastor. I hope you are OK and sorry for your loss!
