I think Pistons still can win a championship w/o Big Ben. Although the defense stat will drop in coming season, their turnover rate and the FT% must increase sharply w/o Big Ben. Therefore, it is nothing to lose for the Pistons.
By the way, Hamiliton and W. Wallace are both much more important than Big Ben.

The Pistons might not get out of the East. The loss of Ben Wallace was major. But drafting Darko instead of Carmelo 3 seasons ago is going to be the cause of the end of the championship run.
Go Shock!

Being a Pistons fan I continuously am at the back of their judgements. Ben tousled and left because of the money. It became a terrible decision. even with the undeniable fact that, Nazr Mohammed is fairly good from what i have heard. If the Pistons placed Sheed on the 5 spot, and Antonio McDyess on the 4 spot, they could rotate the three of them round and get some large interior play. they received't be almost as good as they were very last year, yet they could nevertheless be good.

Let's try the other Wallace... Rasheed!
But Ben Wallace is a defensive force of the Pistons, he's the main man of the team. That's why the team called "Defensive-minded" because of him. Chicago Bulls will be the focus in this upcoming 2006-2007 season.
Now, my prediction on Chicago Bulls...... They will make it to the East Finals against the defending champion Miami Heat.

Actually they have better chance of winning it this year than last year. With Ben Wallace they claim to have better defensive edge, but seriously, you can't play four on five basketball on the offensive end and expect to go all the way. As much as Ben Wallace worth on the defensive end, he needs to contribute on the offensive end.
His highest scoring total in the season is when Detroit reached the final 2004 and 2005. His playoff scoring average is highest in the respective years, cracking double digit compared to his 4.7 average during the last playoff run. The question is who starts in Ben Wallace place? Someone who need to have presence in the offensive boards, and having a double digit scoring nights when necessary. MacDyess seems to be a good replacement, if you can keep him healthy.Nazr Mohammed is also a 10-10 guy but you have to see how he fit in to the rotation.

I think they can, but it is unlikely. Ben didnt do too much in the playoffs last year, but he will still be a huge loss to the team. I definetly think the Pistons are not in the top 2 in the East anymore.

Certainly. Ben Wallace was the anchor of the Pistons' defense, but he was an offensive liability. With Nazr Mohammed at 5, at least they have a little bit stronger weapon at their own end, but you can't replace Big Ben at the other team's end.

Nope.
Nazr Mohammed adds just a little bit on the offensive end but can he play D and clean up the boards as effectively as Ben Wallace?
