never use a petroleum-based product such as Vaseline (petroleum products can cause deterioration of condoms and also may create a breeding ground for vaginal infections)

Do not sure Vaseline at all for sexual lube if you use condoms or diagrams for birth control. Or if you use condoms for STD protection. In under a minute, anything oil based with degrade latex to the point of being useless.

I also bet it would be more iterating than a lube made for sex, like KY, or something from our local sex shop.

Yes it can if you need to use something for lubrication try KY jelly. It is available at any drug store and is water soluable so that it is not greasy like Vaseline is. Try the KY jelly next time.

Vaseline and other petroleum-based lubricants should not be used as lubrication aids because they can decrease a condom's effectiveness and/or encourage vaginal infections.

Yes, especially if you are allergic!!!! It's kinda hard to wash off, because it's not water-based, it's petroleum-based, so it can trap bacteria onto/ into you.
