Both Matthew and Jake Gyllenhal were in the running to portray Lance in a movie, so they started hanging out with each other. Jake won the role but they're all still cycling buddies.

no they're are just tight....best friends....if that, just because you see a bunch of picture of them they could be a bunch taken at the same time and published on different dates....in all actuallity they could have hung out like 3 or 4 times and the press is over-doing it like everything else.
