Can the infant liquid vitamins make my bab's tummy hurt, or could it be the Nestle good start formula since baby mostlty breastfeeds?

I gave him formula around 8:30 tonight and right now he is up screaming, would formula digest this fast?

My baby is 4 1/2 months old. He has yet to sleep completely through the night. If I decide to try cutting out dairy from my diet what would this consist of and how long would it take to see a difference. I don't eat anything spicy.

it could be the vitamins they may have too much iron. when did you put him of formula as that could be the reason. maybe try mixing a little breast milk with the formula. or try another formula but check with baby's doctor before changing formulas. your child may just have a sensitive stomach. has the baby been having normal bowel movements. mine had colic after i had to quit breastfeeding due to his jaundice, he was put on infamel, and then had to change to simlac which still gave him colic finally put him on alamintin which is for colicky babies that still didn't work. i ended up using mylican, and hyland colic tablets which worked sometime. what helped was taking a washcloth and wetting it with hot water and then putting it in the microwave for about 20 seconds and wrapping it up in a dishtowel and then putting it in a ziplocbag on top of his blanket on his tummy for a little while. he had the colic from 11:00p.m. until 3 or 4:00 a.m. until he was 1 year old.

I don't think either of those things would give a baby a tummy ache, unless s/he's lactose intolerant and the formula's milk-based. Vitamins should be given with a meal, but I've never known them to upset anyone's stomach. (Incidentally, fortified formula + liquid vitamins may end up with a too-high dose of one vitamin or the other. Check out the RDAs just in case.)
If your baby drinks very fast, though, maybe he's swallowing a lot of air whenever he drinks from the bottle? He can drink faster from a bottle than from the breast, so if that's setting him off his rhythm, maybe that's why. Burp often and well.
It could just be colic; but I hope it isn't. That's a real annoyance for mom and baby alike.

Might be the formula or could be just gas, they do have a formula called gentlease which is by lipil it has a light color purlple label. That is good on a babys tummy- if it is just gas the best thing for that is mylacon drops and they are safe to give after every feeding. We had to give those to my son till he was almost four months old. He also drank the genlease formula.

It is probably gas. Especially if you are shaking the bottle instead of stirring it. Babies that breastfeed are not prone to have a lot of gas because, well, there is not any air in the breast.
When you give them a bottle, formula especially, you have to make sure you stir, not shake the bottle to mix it, and burp the baby a little extra when finished. Try Mylicon Gas Drops if the problem keeps up, they usually did the trick for me.

I need a bit more info. Is this your 1st baby? What has your Dr. said about this? How old is your baby? Yes, vitimins can upset their little tummies if not given regularly at the same time of day and on an empty stomach. Is the baby colicy? How does he/she sleep? And yes again, switching formulas back and forth can cause upset. Are you trying to switch your baby to Good Start on your own? Your best bet is to call your Dr. on the matter if it persists. Good Luck !

Nestle goodstart is the BEST formula made..very close to breastmilk
my guess..its the bottle your using..hes getting too much air...which is causing gas/bloating..try a different bottle..dr browns widenecks work well at reducing air intake...along with the playtex natural shape ventaire.
the baby doesnt need any extra vitamins either...
is he eating cereal yet?
Try some Baby Bliss gripe water/hylands colic tablets for tummy relief..the natural way..or mylicon

Could be a number of things....the formula, gas, constipation, etc. Has your baby been passing gas? If so, try some Mylecon. Has your baby had a bowel movement in the last 24 hours? If not, give him 2 oz. of watered down Gerber prune juice. If my answers to your question doesn't help, consult your pediatrician.

I havent given my infant liquid vitamines. It could be colic, or gas, it could be formula if you are switching back and forth this can tear up a babys stomach. They cannot get used to one or the other. You need to choose to either breastfeed or bottle feed. If they raise their knees to their stomach when they hurt then it is gas and colic. There are drops for that.

You didnt mention the baby's age but Im asumming is an infant. If the baby is breastfed then chances are is the formula. I remember my second child got lots of colics and gases with Good Start and had to switch to Enfamil.
I sugest you talk to his PED. Good Luck!!

It could be a bubble from sucking the nipple on the bottle. Make sure you burp her during and after she drinks the bottle. Vitamins make my tummy hurt if I haven't eaten, so make sure you follow the directions. I think Good Start is a very good formula. Ask your Pediatrician if the burping doesn't help. Good luck.
