There are many wrong answers above--here's the correct one.

Mobile to mobile is absolutely free between Sprint and Nextel--it's in the fine print 100%. Call away!!

However, you cannot use a Sprint phone to walkie a Nextel since the technologies are different (and Ready Link is getting phased out anyway.)

However, for the Walkie situation, there's a solution around the corner for you--within the next year Sprint will be offering a Hybrid CDMA/iDen phone which will allow a person to have normal Sprint phone service but with added Nextel Walkie-Talkie service--then you can chirp all your Nextel friends with your Sprint phone.

mobile to mobile allows free calls to/from Sprint/Nextel. Walkie-talkie is not available on the Sprint network. That's why Sprint bought Nextel. Two different technologies, two different networks.

yes, you can talk to nextel users for free if you add mobile to mobile to your sprint plan.. In regards to the walkie talkie no, you can't cherp sprint users. Sprint's walkie talkie numbers are different from nextel.

I am in my second week of training at a Sprint call center, but I'm not sure of that. The customer service phone lines are still open, and the call time should be awsome, so call.

Even though they have merged legally into one corporation, the two networks have not been merged. For answers to specific questions: www.sprint.com
