.
Go to the manufacturer's site and download the free most recent drivers to your desktop download folder.
Then opent he folder and do the install.
That should do the trick.
I would like to say I'm not a fan of Nero...although many other are.
I like the utility in Windows...it's baboon proof. Very easy to use.
Pop a blank CD into your CD burner.
Right click your program/or folder and select SEND TO > CD Drive.
Next you'll get the window showing the files, and in the left panel click burn to CD.
Easy, sweet

Your disk media may not match the rated speed of your drive... If your laptop is an aspire 3000 I have one of those and had issues with the NTI software not working very well. I downloaded Deepburner at www.deepburner.com and have been happy ever since...

What CD burning program are you using? Make sure your CD blanks are correct for the speed of your burner.

please provide the model of your cd burner and brand of the cd as well, so i can investigate for you.
For your information some acer aspire laptop with panasonic (matshita) UJ-815 can only support 4x DVD-. If you are using higher speed than that or DVD + ,the burner won't work.

Are you sure it's your computer? Maybe it's the program you're using to burn CDs. I use Record Now!, and it works like a dream.

Check your device driver to see if it is "working properly."
Start,Settings, Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Driver
If it is not, you may have to uninstall and reinstall.
If that doesn't do it, see if you can download the latest driver.
