The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business as well as the industry you're interested in.

I recommend checking out the SBA, Entrepreneur, The Start Up Journal & Nolo. All 4 are great informational resources for the new/small business owner. I posted links for you in the source box.

Associations may be a good avenue to explore. These organizations will address many of the thoughts, questions and concerns you'll inevitably have as well as many you haven't anticipated yet. See the source box for some relevant links.

Research, research, research – this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can about the industry. Here are some book titles that are relevant:

* The Restaurant Business Start-up Guide by Paul Daniels
* Restaurants That Work: Case Studies of the Best in the Industry by Martin E. Dorf
* Restaurant Financial Basics by Raymond S. Schmidgall
* Opening a Restaurant or Other Food Business Starter Kit: How to Prepare a Restaurant Business Plan and Feasibility Study by Sharon Fullen

* The Great Tween Buying Machine: Capturing Your Share of the Multi-Billion-Dollar Tween Market by David Siegel
* Creating Ever-Cool: A Marketer's Guide to a Kid's Heart by Gene Del Vecchio

There are plenty of free informational resources out there. Check the source box for links to articles.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

A restaurant business has a few set up stage fundamentals you have to watch for:
1. market / audience; you have defined this as the "younger" aged adults that are into gaming....redefine this as for the "young at heart" to help your "business" survive and grow in the long term, unless you are sure that your business will thrive only on kids playing and eating...for you profitably.
2. product/ menu: now define whether you shall feed them healthy or unhealthy yet tasty food?
3. Gaming for money won't be approved ....you might want to tie the game scores into a loyalty program that gets them discounts on meals at different levels.
4. You would need the POS software & hardware to set up.
5. you would need the equipment & terminals to accept payments and run the loyalty program (s.a www.wynpay.com)
6. Rest all would involve the regular start up administration and hard work...finding investors, employees, lease / rented high traffic location, CPA, Legal counsel, corporation/organization structure, marketing, catering deals/sales, etc.
7. A website would be a must have. Get all you would need from www.bizdevsystems.com click on eBusiness
8. A VoIP phone system and Internet/wifi in your restaurant. From www.eBolo.com

Experience.
www.wynpay.com for Payment processing
www.bizdevsystems.com click on eBusiness
www.ebolo.com for VoIP
