I have typed some stuff I was searching for at google.com and when I type something beginning with the same letter it comes up for me to select. How to get this to stop doing this?

Go to Tools
Internet Options
Delete Cookies
Delete Files (offline)
Clear History
You can set History to days to store to 0.
There is a downside to this. When you remove cookies, anything you downloaded, which put a cookie on your PC, may or may not work. I downloaded some pictures which were included on some medical information. The next time I opened the file, the pictures were red X. I also saved some great support sites as Favorites, then deleted cookies. These sites are gone.
It's your choice.

Open Internet Exployer, Go to the Tools at at the top of the page, Go to Internet Options, Delete History, While your there, might as well delete cookies, delete files, Go to the Content Tab and open Auto complete, Delete forms and delete passwords, All Cleaned up

just clear/delete your history
