are there techniques that we should be aware of? am hooked on yahoo answers. kind of an obsession to get to the next level.

The best way to get more points is to answer many questions, but put some time into the answers so you get chosen as the best answer. You may also want to go and vote in unresolved questions and rate resolved answers.

there is no special formula for increasing points on yahoo answers all u need to do is to give good answers and ope that its chosen as the best asnwer for which u get 10pts else keep aswering the max number of questions per day to get 2pts each for all questions u answer and keep logging in every hour to get 1pt each...this should take u to level 2 pretty quickly...from level2 onwards u can vote to gain more points......

The best way I have found to raise my points is to answer your question, and then you pick me as best answer.
SO
I answer questions in the areas I know the most about where few people are answering. I look for questions about php programming or XHTML.
I don't even get close to the million questions about MySpace.
