alternate plan for what? to get out of Iraq, to deal with terrorism? or are you just asking who would be a better replacement for bush? honestly this is a terribly indirect way to phrase your question. But to be honest Democrats are about as in over their heads with everything going on as republicans are. I haven't seen anyone or heard a plan that sounded like it would take care of the shape that our country is in. of course i am sure that all of these things will start popping up in the coming years as the election nears. i don't care who has control of the country as long as the people are heard and have a say, after all we are not in a democracy if the peoples opinions do not count. I believe you are confused if you think the people of this country do not have the power. we just don t use it unless it is necessary. Read the constitution if at any time our government is unsatisfactory or our leaders are inadequate we have the right to over throw them and start again. In the end i will be glad no matter who takes office as long as we can begin to mend the damage that has been done to our economy, our morale, and our reputation.

How true Pigpen. You got it right. Democraps are experts at bashing. And, I think that many uneducated people believe them. The real traitors in this country are university professors. They all look and act crazy to me. Ever notice them as they walk around? they seem confused.

I was getting ready ready to ask the same question. They have no platform other than, "Bush has made a mess of things." The sad thing is, the ignorant masses believe this crap and are willing to vote Democrat because of it.

Alternative to WHAT exactly? You make it sound like Bush actually has a policy instead of floating from opportunity to opportunity and promiscuiously whoring himself to whatever opinions will inflame his base.

Fine. I'm positing MY plan instead of what I think the Democrats would do. If you don't like this, **** you, I could care less.

Unilaterally withdraw from Iraq. Tomorrow.

Admit that there were no weapons of mass destruction, there was no smoking gun, there was no imminent threat, there was NO Osama-Saddam connection, that the Pentagon and CIA LIED to the American Public, and that the entire thing was a stupid waste of human life and money.

Apologize to the Iraqis and the world at large.

Impeach Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Perle, Rove, Libby and the other principles in promoting the war for high crimes and misdemeanors. Obtain an indictment from the International Criminal Court and extradite them to Brussels for trial.

Impeach Bush but refuse extradition to maintain sovereignity and demonstrate that Americans do not hold the mentally handicapped fully reponsible for their actions.

Redeploy all available troops to Afghanistan. Inform Pakistan that they will sweep the Pashtun tribal areas for Bin Ladin and that if they object, we will recognize India's full sovereignity over the Kashmir and that we will allow them to annex it after the invasion. Make sure that if we don't know the locations of their tactical nukes that India does. (Don't worry, they do.) Getting the armored vehicles to Kabul with Iran and Pakistan in the way may be tricky, but the Central Asian states are far more easily bribed then Turkey.

Either way, comb the deserts. FIND BIN LADIN. Bring him back to the states, preferably alive. Crush the Taliban remnant while we're at it. When they're done, bring them all home.

If we do get Bin Ladin alive, I have a fitting punishment. His neice wants to be in show business, let's see if we can get her interested in hardcore pornography with Jewish actors. If so, making Osama watch those films until he dies will provide far more torment over the years then a non-existent hell ever could.

As for other things foreign, cut off Israel. End all military and financial support. She's caused far too much trouble and that might finally cure her populace of electing generals.

Set up a fund of about 500 billion in reparations for Iraq, and another 200 billion for Afghanistan and Pakistan. That's a lot less than a few more years of occupation

Ignore North Korea and Iran. Neither is capable of harming us. They know that if they tried they'd get butt full of ICBM in 20 minutes. Consider pulling out of the Korean DMZ if it is warranted. If Jong-Il insists on being an ***, get with China and propose a swap: North Korea for Taiwan. Taiwan will do the Communist Party in China way more harm then it realizes. Once the Chinese close the border and the navy interdicts all incoming ships, Jong will have to either attack on both fronts or accept a nice villa on an Island with all the Bond films he can eat.

Back to isolationism offering financial support and ground troops to the UN when requested. We'll keep watching for terrorist threats, but we will do so with transparency and congressional oversight.

We'll mind our own ******* business. Not doing that is how this mess got started.

That done, domestic policy.

Purge the CIA and the Pentagon officer corps. Open all CIA files older than 10 years to full disclosure, blanking only the names of living agents. Bring back those agents forced out by Bush for "ideological inconsistency". Rule of thumb: fire every flag officer who has spent more time in weapons development than troop command.

Halt all development programs. Our toys are more than nice enough, and the aforementioned assfull of ICBM awaits anyone who would tangle with in a situation where we might need them. Freeze all construction, bring all fleets to harbor. Mothball most of the Carrier forces. Possibly send some destroyer forces to areas where piracy is a problem. That's what the Navy is supposed to be for. Consider switching from M-16s to AKs, they're less expensive, the business would make the Russians happy, and frankly, they're better guns.

Keep closing bases. Double or tripke the salary schedule for the enlisted. They've had to put up with more then enough ****. Our target peactime Defense budget is $100 Billion.

Reform taxes. Roll back those ridiculous tax cuts. End all deductions. ALL OF THEM. Readjust the progressive scale so that the middle classes pay only a little more. (And by Middle Class I mean less than 200,000 in annual income you pricks.) Shift the burden back to those noxious leisure classes who have the cheek to claim that they and not the combined investment power of the middle and lower classes are the driving force in creating jobs. Bring back the death tax with a vengeance. It's there for a reason: to safeguard capitalism. If wealth is allowed to accrue in families without check, we'll end up with an aristocracy, which will begin setting up further protections for its wealth and power preventing free trade. (And what Commie came up with that idea, you may ask? How about ADAM SMITH in The Wealth of Nations!)

Shift about $100 Billion to subsidizing education throughout the country, especially where property taxes are low. Kids can't grow up to invent the next big thing if they can't read. We want to increase teacher salaries as well.

Increase investment in infrastructure by about the same amount, we want to fix the levees, the power grid, and a lot of the roads. This will provide jobs BTW, and actually produce something that can be used in the long term, unlike, say a B2 bomber. (What kind of a pansy anti-war Democrat would say that? How about EISENHOWER!)

We also need to pour money into energy research. We are in a race against time until the oil runs out. Fusion is the best possible bet. Another couple billion per year on Manhattan Project II is needed.

Between tax increases and budget shuffling, we want to have n annual surplus close to $1 trillion. The scale of that should allow us to start paying off existing treasury bonds and refinance outstanding ones at increasingly favorable rates. This is good supply-side economics since all the money being invested by the financial markets in the government can be sent back to the economy. Inflation will need to be let loose a bit to take some slack off the national debt as well as the indebtedness of the general public. 7-10% will suffice. Once the debt is erased in 7-10 years, a treasury can be accumulated. This treasury can take the form of state and municipal bonds in our own nation to help state and local governments balance their budgets and relieve taxes, the sovereign bonds of our allies, and to bankroll a more ambitious Home Loan financing program through Fannie Mae and Bernie Mac. As the budget is disburdened of interest payments on the debt and supplemented with the dividends of the treasury, taxes can be scaled back or improved benefits added, or both.

This will greatly improve:

Our internal security.
Our international image.
Our economy.
Our future.

It requires no changes to the constitution.

It will also never happen.
