I think you touched on the problem, our teenagers get very little respect, have no voice in what is happening around them, and are told that one day they will be in charge of all the problems we have caused. Gee what a good time they have to look forward to.They don't get allot of positive feedback on the way they dress either. It's a good thing they don't all become shooters!

Just because some of us are a bit insecure, we are neither adults nor children, so we don't have a proper place and we are generally unhappy about our bodies, because they have just changed quite alot, and also people judge us by how we look in a very different and much harsher way then they did a few years ago. Also, I read that quite a large proportion of young teens have mild depression because of hormones.

They are undergoing alot of physical changes and subject to a lot more emotional experiences.
It is made worse by the fact that they are media junkies.
They chew on every idea the tv, the magazines and movies feed them, and are getting indigestion from it. Most of the times, it just make them feel insecure.

For the same reasons we were on our selves when we were young. So much to learn so little time. Only 17 years to be a child then face the real world. We humans tend to be very Loveless in our dealing with others.

Teenagers don't love themselves because others don't love them. (at least they think so) They're hard on themselves because they think if they don't change for in their mind, the better, then they will never be loved. And by not being loved, they feel they cannot love themselves.

Failure to live up to the " real world " as portrayed in Movies, Commercials etc. The corporate image to buy products and spend their way to success. Lack guidance from us older ones who should know better.

Because of images from magazines, movies and TV. They show us images of fake people and cause us to hate our looks. As for kids of the future? I dont really know, confidence is just lacking in today's society isn't it.

Maybe it's lack of confidence. I just think it's because most teenagers don't realize that they are intelligent, and they don't have many people telling them that they are. Most teens put alot of pressure on themselves, and other people add to it. I guess that all kind of adds up.

They are to worried what other pple think. When someone brings them down it starts to wear them down. We as parents need to keep them built up. Be apart of their lives without them knowing we are doing so ( heaven knows we are not supposed to be).

I think it's because they haven't meet their true life.
Why they haven't?
It's because they parents too care for them so they haven't meet any hardship for their life.
And because of they parents did that, only time will tell them about *future*.

Don't worry too much,
Time will tell everything.
