I hope I can help a little. Do you know what rhyming is? Rhyming is when words sound similar. Red, Bed, Ted (like that).
Like has a long 'i' sound. Right has a long 'i' sound too. Right, Light, Night, Fight...are words that rhyme. They sound the same.
Past tense is anything that happened in the past.
Example; If you're watching a movie now, you could say "I like this movie." but if you saw it yesterday, you would say " I liked that movie."
You can also use 'like' for things that are the same or close to the same. Example; "This red shirt is like that red shirt."
Havd isn't an English word. If there is something in your hand now, you HAVE it in your hand. If you put it down, you HAD it in your hand.
If you went to the beach a week ago, then you have BEEN to the beach. If you go somewhere and come back from that place...then you have 'been' to that place. You can also use 'been' for things like, "I have been happy." or "I have been sad." This means that you have at some time in the past, been either happy or sad. If you are happy NOW...you would say "I AM happy."
You usually use the word 'The' in front of a noun. The car, the dog, the hat, the water, the beach...things like that. I hope this helped a little. I know it's very confusing.

Do not be overly concerned. With more exposure, you will become more fluent. It is the same with everything: Practice makes perfect. Give yourself time and do not judge yourself harshly.
You are one step in front of many American-born English speakers, since you know the textbook difference between past tense and present perfect. The reason they speak better English than you do is that they have been immersed in it. However, I bet they don't really speak English as well as you think they do. (Most of them actually speak very poor English, as their subject/verb agreements are frequently wrong.)

If you really have a hard time with English, I recommend you go to a tutor that will help you. Yes, English is the hardest language in our world, but you can and will understand it. I am an immigrant from Puerto Rico. It took me 5 years to fully understand and speak the English language well. Do not worry, because you will speak the English language well.
It's been 10 months, you need to be patient. Like I said, it took me 5 years to fully understand the English language. Once again, I recommend a tutor. If it helped me, it will help you.

I'm not good with teaching english, but i learned a little about how it works when i learned spanish. haha
Past tense is used for actions that took place in the past. Present perfect tense is used for actions that started in the past and have completed.
"The" is used to indicate a definite article. It's used with nouns that you want to specifically indicate. "A/an" is indefinite its used when you dont care about a particular object.
Sorry if i'm not good with the explanations... you can always look for a website

I'll give you some examples:
'The' horse went to the the store. 'The' is like a title starter. 'went' is past tense.
I should (Present tense) go to the store.
You're right. (This means you are correct).
Turn right. (This means direction)
