I have an air bag, but willing to lose it for a smaller diamiter wheel. I need the leg room. This car should have had a tilt wheel.

Ebay will have wheels, search for MOMO, Raid, Nardi, Astrali, Mountney, Sparco, find the right wheel you want, and you'll be able to check that the maker produces a hub-adaptor kit for the car you own. Make sure you have a garage remove the airbag steering wheel, and keep it ready to re-sell the vehicle.

.Vito are you sure it does not tilt? Must be a 190 or 240 because even 300 diesel tilted. Air bag light will flash all the time! You could go under the dash and move the mounting for the steering column up some cutting welding. Or find a 280, 350 or 450 SL convertible wheel same year it is smaller. Don't give up a major saftey feature.

my 78 doesnt tit eithier and Im 6'3 but I have the smaller wheel. look for a gant steering wheel kit
