A quid a gallon? I wish it were that cheap. I think it was that price in about 1982. I think you mean a quid a litre!
No, I don't think we should have another protest. We need to start reorganizing our lives in such a way that we don't have to use so much fuel.

Don't think a protest will do any good. Just leave as it is and shortly due to ever increasing living costs through higher taxation on all consumer products and living expenses etc. combined with having to work for less wages we will not be able to afford cars, therefore no need for fuel. The powers that be should realise that eventually there will be nothing left in the average wage packet due to the continuing cost of living expenses and consumer goods price rises, the Country will grind to a halt. Lets face it if it becomes uneconomical to work then people will stop doing so and the Welfare State will have to keep them. (wonder where they will get the money for that if they cannot tax us to the hilt.)

No, people pay lik a pound for a bottle of coke and your getting half the amount and its c*ap, most petrol prices rise for a reason, yes to make money, but theres all the other expenses of getting the petrol in the first place not just to the pump, it doesn't just come out the ground underneath lol!!

I think there will be an increase of people buying Autogas cars, which is what I want to do for the cheaper fuel although inevitably, when enough people are using it that will go up in price too, I want to take advantage while its still cheap!

Pointless I think. I'm not a greenie but undoubtedly the car and the aeroplane add enormously to the greenhouse effect. I believe therefore that we should do everything we can to curtail both. Hard, difficult I know but unfortunately
the only solution.

i got an e-mail a while back saying we should boycott the more expensive oil companys and go with the less expensive ones. the expensive ones would have to lower their prices to compete. using that idea, we could actually drive down the prices, switching back and forth between companies. sounded right to me.

No. Gas stations have a reason for raising their prices. We are running out of gas VERY VERY quickly. Although gas prices are high, we should be grateful that we have any gas at all.

The most effective protest is not to buy it or at least cut the consumption sharply.

1st our fearless leader george w is a oil man and is looking out for his budies, so get rid of him, 2nd we have made so many enemies in the middle east they respond by raising price on crude because the U,S, supports their enemy Israel with money and weapons to kill them with, (who can blame them) americans pay thru the nose for this and it is designed to break america or else get out of the interal affairs of their country,
