I have had that happen to me before and it really hurt but at the end of the day there is email and our phone systems these days are amazing. we still talk all the time mainly by email but we also send sms occassionally aswell. no matter where they are they will always be the best friend and they do come back and visit.
Just remember they will always only be a email away

Be happy for them but by the same token devasted. Then I would think that the world really is a small place and we can keep in touch by mobile, by email, webcam, and if all else fails by pigeon post. And I can always go and visit if the pocket allows.

Happy that they are bettering their station in life. But in a selfish way I would probably feel a little sad for myself and the loss of the closeness of this friend. Luckily there is the phone and internet, oh yeah and also snail mail that would allow us to keep in contact with one and other.

i would feel really down if i was really close to this friend but on the other hand i would feel happy for him/her. They are doing something with there life's that are going to make them happy. If he/she was a really good mate you would still be able to go and visit and they should come and visit you maybe not all the time but just to show that they still think about u.

If it was a good opportunity for them, then I'd be happy for them (cuz you always want what's best for them), at the same time I'd also feel sad, abandoned, lonely, and maybe a little angry with them for leaving me. But these are just emotions, and I would overall want them to be happy.

I would feel hurt! But we do things like that to help our familes out. Try and keep in touch with her. Though your worlds apart friendships that have a strong bond last an eternity

Happy for them because they are seeking a better life.
Sad for me as the contact with my friend would now be phone or email.
Looking on the bright side, it would now give you somewhere to go for a holiday.

Sad but good. If that makes any sense. I like to see people go with their dreams
