well, 100%-86.2%=14.8 % had no women, so clearly no female supervisers

18.8 % of the remaining firms (86.2%) had no female supervisors
.188*.862= .162 (or 16.2%)

add the ones with women but no supervisors to the ones without women to get total without female supervision

14.8+16.2=31.0

31% of those businesses had no female supervision

0.862 employed women, therfore 0.138 did not employ women
0.188 of the firms that employed women had no female supervisors, therfore 0.162056 (0.862 x 0.188) is the proportion for the firms with females vs no female supervisors.
Hence the proportion of businesses surveyed emplyoed no female supervisors is 0.300056 (0.138 + 0.162056)
