Try something like Febreeze and that should help take out the smoke smell.

Here's the best solution I've ever used.....Put the clothes in the machine, pour in 1/2 cup Cascade dishwasher detergent + 1/2 cup Clorox 2. Set to the hottest water setting and fill with enough water to cover. Let it agitate just enough to get the stuff dissolved and mixed with the clothes and then turn off the machine. Let them sit overnight. In the morning, turn the machine on and let it finish the cycle as usual. This works for all clothes of all colors, only don't mix whites with colors, darks with lights. It's great!

I use to work in a bar & this worked every time. 1 cup of vinegar added to your washing machine while you are washing your clothes. Works everytime.
