no, raves are not heavy metal concerts. you will have to take ecstacy and dance around with glowsticks and funky light shows.
other drugs that will be prevalent are GHB, Ketamine, cocaine and maybe some speed.
i would recommend laying off the drugs myself, but thats not my scene so ill let you make up your own mind.
basically a rave is a big drugfest set to crappy electronic music.

You mean mosh pits? Haha, no. Usually a rave will have music and areas you can just chill in. You can dance if you want to, but you do not HAVE to mosh.

dude, don't go to a rave if you can avoid it, in there they just hear awful electronic music and they get tripping, you know what I mean (they get stoned if you don't get it), they put lots of funky colored lights and glowsticks, and it's boring instead of fun, and if you go anyways, don't drink/take anything, they're damn drugs. Ravers suck.
