The purpose of an informative paragraph is to inform - to give facts about something. First, decide what the main idea of the paragraph is (the main fact), then use that as the first sentence - the topic sentence. The middle sentences give further details about the main idea to support it. Then give a conclusion sentence to wrap it up.
