I have five of these USB powered enclosures all with 100gb 2.5" drives. I can transfer data and/or backup all my computers with these enclosures. I use Acronis True Image to store backups of bootable partitions. Flash drives and DVDs are too slow when it comes to moving large amounts of data between computers that are not networked. In the good old days I used to use 60mb QIC80 tapes to do the same thing.

Depends on the size of the file(s). If you are only move a file or two that will fit on a USB flash drive, than use one. Plus once you pay the flash drive, every use is free. CDs and DVDs cost money. But if you are moving gigs of data, or files too big to fit on a flash, you would want to use CD/DVD instead.
You can also network the drives to transfer data, or you can take the drive out of one computer and put in temporarily into the other computer as a second hard drive and transfer data - that is the fastest way.

Entire hard drive contents:
- Norton Ghost Image (with your choice of media)
- Put drive in another computer as a Slave drive (as user dewcoons said this is usually the fastest method)
For permanent backup DVD's or CD's depending on size.
As temporary backup for like an Operating system reinstall or migrating to a new computer:
- send files to another machine on your network
- usb flash drive, the price has dropped way down now
- an external hard drive or hard drive enclosure

I grabbed a Verbatim 1Gb flash drive for $24.99 at Office Max, last week, when they went on sale. No Rebates.
Already have several Sandisk 256Mb from earlier this year (4 for $44 at Costco).
Then, being that I rebuild hard drives, took 3 of my 'free' 80Gb drives and put them into Firewire/USB2 cases at about $31, each.
Very transportable data!
Also, on my network, all data is free to flow between the drives, under my control, as LVM (Logical Volume Management) is integral to Linux. With Linux tools, can move files worldwide.
Microsoft uses Linux on 45,000 MSN, Hotmail, and Microsoft.com systems, following the huge ( $$$ profit!) success of Google.com.

hi, plz connect u r previous not ordinary disk to u r computing gadget if u dont have non-obligatory cord in u r now computing gadget get rid of the roms power cord and information cable and connect with ur previous computing gadget then ull c all the drives of recent and previous not ordinary disks then u can trnsfr. the advice .
