Are you saying that our society has lax morals? I would agree with this statement, it is an ever increasing problem. We as individuals living on this earth have an obligation not to turn a blind eye or neglect our responsibilities. We must acknowledge the magnitude of the problem, and do everything within our power to turn from this road heading to destruction. We must stop this wave of immorality. The time for action is now!

Yes and no. It's a very big deal in the sense that everyone is loosing it, and doesn't realize just what a precious gift it is. But it's not a big deal in the sense that it's a common thing...but it isn't talked about it a very postive light all the time. For example, on here there are constantly girls asking if they should loose their virginity, and people respond with answers like 'no don't, wait untill marriage'. However, there are also tons of girls are here asking on how to please their bf's sexually, and asking if they could be pregnent...and it's happening more and more often.
So, its a very big deal in the fact that its being talked about ALLOT. But as for being a big deal in the matter of 'are you or arn't you', not so much anymore.

It so sad...
I wish girls would wait for their husbands. They'd find it so much more special and enjoyable, and they'd get to experience feeling completely treasured, cherished, loved and accepeted for all that they are. They wouldn't have to worry about being talked about in school, or being broke up with, or being used, or having an unplanned pregnancy.

The only thing we can do about it though is hope they are mature enough to realize that by having sex (not neccesarily making love, because its not always in a loving, commited relationship), that they are giving up their childhood forever.

Hi Im only 13 and I dont know if I will keep my virginity untill I get married but Im going to try. I am deeply in love with this 13 year old boy and hes very sweet and affectionate. Hes also very strong and I can tell from the way he gets a boyish bulge now and than hes not gay and he likes me. We are often home alone together and I actually watch him for his mother until school starts. Hes very immature and got into a really big problem.

My dream is to marry jamie when we both are in our 20s. My dream is on my wedding night Jamie will take me and I will take him inside me for the first time.

Not being a virgin can have consequences. Maybe you will catch an std. Maybe you will get pregnant. Maybe the boys will know that they can have you anytime they want. Will you have a boy like Jamie that will love you and want to be your husband and partner for life? Will you have a boy who will be there for his kids?

As much as I like to feel Jamies boyish bulge when we embrace or he kisses me on the cheek, I think I will wait for it until he lifts off my wedding dress after we are in bed together on our wedding night.

I disagree. It stopped for a while... a long while, but now we're back. no one likes a slut, and its an honor to be a virgin...especially if your a guy. I disagree with you completely, it IS a big deal.

I read the other answers and was surprised to find that people only talked about how GIRLS need to stay virgins. are boys exempt from this issue? they can get stds and get girls pregnant too...

To me I don't think that it is a big deal who really cares if your a virgin , it's not like if you meet someone and they are going to ask you right out "Are you a virgin?" and you say no and then they won't talk to you anymore!

I don't think virginity itself is as big a deal now as it was years ago, but the consequences of losing it certainly are.

Your virginity is stil a huge deal. You are giving some one something so special that it can only be given once. You should want that person to be special.

Virginity is a huge deal. I think that you should wait until you're married to loose it. Too many girls are loosing it earlier and earlier.
