No, that is nonsense. Don't worry so much about being popular. Worry about getting a good education so that eventually you can get a jood paying job and support yourself. High school will go by much quicker than what you think.

Join clubs thats lots of kids that are 'popular' are in and just put your self out there, make lots of new friends
but really why does it matter as long as im not getting picked on and i have really good freinds, doin well in school and have joined some clubs im happy = )

education will provide all the answers you need, go to school learn what is to be taught. Then and only then will you "get more popular in school"
