Put a percentage of your paycheck in the bank and don't touch it.

Money or Quicken are the two most popular. Check your PC under start, programs, and see if you have a tab called "Finance" or if Microsoft Money or Quicken / Quickbooks may already be on your PC. You can get free trials online to check them out before you purchase. Both programs will help you far more than their cost. If you dont have them on your PC now, check Ebay. I just bought an old version of Money for a friend for around $5.

Do you mean a computer program? I love Microsoft Money, you can set up all your accounts, it makes reports of everything for you, reminds you when bills are due, and you can even do "what if" scenarios to see what would happen if you did different things with your money. The newer version will even download your transactions from your bank right to Money.

I like the feature that will forecast your spending. After yoou put in all your recurring bills, it will tell you how much money you will have (or won't have LOL!) next week, next month, next year, etc. Pretty cool.

Hope this helps :)

I use Microsoft money and find it very useful. Though they say quicken is about one year advanced then money

The new features you see this year in quicken will be implemented in microsoft money next year.

I am just used to MS money, so I use it. Its personal choice. Both are really good tools. and cheap too.
