He has a hunch that Eve (that other blonde girl) has something to do with the disappearing video evidence of Chelsea's trial. So he is trying to get close to her to see if she lets anything slip. (Just in case you don't know Kate paid Eve off to destroy the evidence against her grand daughter, so she did, and that's what John is trying to figure out).

Because Marlena asked him to move out so she could figure out what she really wants. He left the penthouse to go live in a "motel" and they sort of have gone their separate ways until she gets herself rediscovered. So basically, he's doing what she wants and just asked Eve the cop out. It gets better towards the end of this week though. Make sure you deff watch it on Friday.

He is helping Bo try to prove he is not guilty of stealing the evidence against his daughter from the evidence room. Hope told Bo to prove he didn't do it and she might take him back. Bo,John and Patch are working to find out who did.
