The "cloven hooves" thingy belong to the Old Testament which is recognised & follwed by Jews (where food must be kosher in order to be consumed) & Muslims (halal) alike.
The 2 points God made to Cornelius when he was praying on the rooftop in the New Testament are that food created by God cannot be unclean & also that "unclean food" (Gentiles) "clean food" (Jews) are equal in His eyes.
The reason why the Christians & Catholics do not distinguish between clean & unclean food is because the taechings of the New Testament is accepted as the integral part of the Bible whereas the Jews & Muslims do not.

In the Old Testament it talks about things that were best to eat or not good to eat. I think that was for our own good. If you pay attention to what it says its all healthier.

God's daughter Godwina - the one who is rarely talked about - just loved little piglets with their cute little trotters and everything so he forbade us to hurt the little darlings. Their is a logical reason like that for all the little munchkins we must not ehhhh..... munch.
