Don't worry, i did that too, a couple of days ago :-D The effectivity of a home pregnancy test depends on the presence of HCG in the urine. If the pregnancy test kit you have is capable of detecting the slightest HCG in it (it says in the box) even if you havent missed your period yet, then you can use it as per instructions. There are HPTs now that can tell 4-5 days before your period. But of course, ideally, it should be taken after you missed your period.... if you really want to be sure, that is.

It depends on the kind of test. Blood test are most accurate and they can measure the hcg hormone. There are some urine brands that will show results as soon as one week after your period should of started. A blood test can tell you before you are expected to start.

It all depends of what ur hormonal levels are... I took a test 4 days before my period was due. The best test that I've taken is First Responds

At least 4 days BEFORE you miss your period . Take it with a First response or EPT test to get the most accurate results.

Most say you can take them the day of your missed period but I would wait till I was at least a week late to test.

Usually about a week after one has missed a period. Some girls are not regular so a blood test should be done for accuracy.

There are some tests that claim to be accurate the first day of your missed period. You can get them at any drug store or grocery store. I can't vouch for how accurate they ARE...but that's what they claim.
