Typically, vaginal yeast infections present with thick, cottage cheese like discharge. Most women experience intense itching and sometimes a burning sensation. Swelling is common from the resulting scratching that occurs.
Yeast infections are very common and women can also have them without knowing. Yeast infections occur from a disturbance in the natural flora of the vagina (the normal bacteria is changed, which allows the yeast to grow like mad) Antibiotics are known for causing yeast infections to occur because the antibiotics kill off the good bacteria and not the yeast, which is a fungus, has an opportunity to flourish. Hormonal changes can also cause yeast to grow and non cotton underwear/ tight clothing as it doesn't allow for air circulation.
There are many over-the-counter remedies that women can use to treat the infection, like Monistat. However, if a woman is not sure what the infection is, she should see her physician to make sure it's not another type of infection, that won't be cured by an over-the-counter remedy.
A yeast infection shouldn't have any affect on your ability to conceive. Yeast is a normal part of women's vaginal flora (it's a normal bacteria for women at all times) A yeast infection is just when it grows out of control.
Hope this answers your question! Have a great day :)

Does not have anything to do with infertility. If you are having problems in that area, you should see a ob/gyn.
For yeast infections, Monistat 3 works like a charm! Also, eat yogurt with active bacteria, like Protivia...

For the yeast infection, Canesten works really well....I haven't heard of this lowering your ability to conceive, but if you're sure you have one you should definitely treat it before it causes more difficulties. Contact your obgyn and they can do some testing to find out why you can't conceive.

Yogurt helps, I ate it, but some insert it. But when i used to have this recurring problem, I found out it was because i was allergic to my laundry soap and some bath soaps. Just having my undies washed in it, cause me to get the problem. I changed soaps and have not had the trouble since. I can only wash with Dove or Caress, and launder with Cheer or All.
