i think it's good to be emotional and in touch with your feelings but not too emotional or melodramatic.

There is nothing wrong with being emotional. There are times when it can be inappropriate though and at that time the person should hold it in until they can get away from the situation and then just let it go. I'm not a fan of holding emotions in because it is just plain not healthy. That would be okay since it's a temporary thing.
I'm an emotional person, but I've been through so much crap in my life that I've learned how to just let things roll off my back and not everybody can do that.
It's sounds like you're a good friend. Just be there for her and help her to reaffirm who she is and remind her of the positive qualities of her life and to just ignore these people.

If she is not letting her emotions run her life , then she is no emotional person. So, where is the question of something being wrong with her as an emotional person?
As for what is wrong with all emotional persons, the sad fact is that they make their own life miserable by suppressing the logical part of their mind and lose out on lots of benefits they could have had by the use of that faculty.
Life is neither totally emotional nor totally rational. There has to be a golden mean between the two for getting the best out of life!

If so many people are calling her an emotional person, it's possible that she is more emotional than she thinks she is.
In a professional situation, people who are emotional are not taken as seriously as those who practice better self control. What I am saying is that she should learn to show her emotions only to those whom she can trust to give her support and keep them hidden from those who don't.

An emotional person or a drama queen? Our feelings (emotions) are what make us human. The other option would be a lobotomy.
In what context do her friends accuse her of being too emotional?
There is a difference between being a drama queen and being an emotional person.

We are all emotional people....some of us just handle our emotions differently than others.
Your friend may be one who lets her emotions show if front of others....and that makes some people uncomfortable.
With maturity comes the ability to control our emotions until we are alone or with those close to us who we know will accept our emotional expressions.
You may be one of those people for your friend.

human beings these days are objective orientated and place a intense fee on rationality and hence, sense that emotions get interior the way of their objectives. for my section, i think that persons might desire to attempt to be solid, yet no longer deny who they are easily. some human beings are basically emotional and gentle. ordinarily, human beings have a tendency to think of that its extra ok for a girl to be emotional than a guy. So once you're a woman, then you definately've it less demanding in that experience.

there is nothing wrong with it per say, it just makes it really hard and stressful to the person experiencing the emotion. Because we experience so many emotions at one time (interpersonal communications class), this makes it really exhausting to experience it ALL the time. She/he may be unnecessarily experiencing stuff she doesn't need to be experiencing or too tough on herself you know?

Maybe because she's outspoken. That happens to me all to often. If I'm angry, or if someones rude to me, I tell em what's on my mind. I think it's a female thing. Ever heard someone call a guy "emotional"? No. It's just when a girl is strong enough to assert herself, and say what's on her mind. You've got a very strong friend.

Not to sure. Maybe she is overly sensitive to comments by other. I don't think being emotional person is problem.
Alot of people think it sign of weakest because you easily get hurt.
But I think it shows that your a person who cares for others, selflessness and maybe at times hard to get along with.
