Why can't people support our troops instead of begging for peace? Without the war in Iraq, there'd be numerous terrorists that would still be on the loose and I can just about guarantee that there would have been more attacks between 9/11 and today. Since the troops are there and since we are at war and the men and women serving have chosen to be there...why can't we just show our support?!

Because they've never had to be in a war themselves. They always want someone else to do their "dirty work". And they've never had a close family member, like a son, in a war in during their lifetime, so they never have had to feel the jeopardy involved in fighting to keep them free. Basically, they have not matured enough to support our troops, and they haven't faith enough to believe in anybody but themselves, and therefore they don't feel they have much to believe in. Hopefully they will mature. We can hope. And pray. God Bless you.

Just because you are against war does not mean you are anti-troops. I am a troop and I spent 11 months in Iraq and I was and still am opposed to that war. The Bush administration has admitted that Iraq had no connection with 9/11. If anything we should be fighting Iran. As a matter of fact, I think that taking troops out of harms way so they can stop dying for rich men to get richer would be the highest form of support that one could give the troops. Why don't you turn off Fox news for a minute and start thinking for yourself.

Its not the people not supporting the troops; its people not wanting to support the cause/problem (which ever way you wanna see it). Honestly the military doesn't choose to be anywhere the goverment chose it for us. In the military you can't just say no I don't want to go so whether you want to be there or not its not up to us to decided. Now just cause people don't see the justification of the war doesn't mean they don't care about the troops. It has nothing to do with the troops, it has with people thinking that the whole Global War on Terrorism was handled in a manner that some people do or don't agree with. Plus the soldiers defend the right for civilians to have an opinion that is what is great about America we can speak our minds without worrying about losing our heads...no pun intended

I think we're doing the right thing in Iraq and I support the troops. I lost a niece from a road side bombing near Fallujah.
Most of the people protesting the war do support our troops. There are some coming out now, sounding like the war protesters during Viet Nam. Calling our soldiers baby killers and such, but the majority of protesters aren't like that.

what makes you think people don't support out troops when asking for peace? people that are asking for peace are asking the war end because they don't want our troops dying. i support our troops...hence why i send money and supplies to soldiers that are stationed overseas....but i do not support the war. there is a huge difference. we want our troops home....and a large portion of the men and women serving right now..were in the national guard and joined so they could get money to go to college...then they got called up....so some are not there by choice.

Let me ask you something do you remember a guy named Osama Bin Laden does anybody remember him instead of killing tons of innocent civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan why doesn't the U.S. and the British government look for him instead I find it utterly stupid to think that a whole country like Iraq is filled with terrorists and that no other country in the world has any terrorists I mean I think the U.S. and the British government should be looking for these guys individually and not try to blame a whole country and it's people for their actions.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

OMG.....this isn't going to be resolved on YA.

There are many people that feel as you do,,,,,,and there just as many people that DO support our soldiers we just want them home. Some of us feel we never should have gone there in the first place.

But please stop saying we don't support our troops because there's not one American that doesn't have a friend or loved one over there.

After 2 years that statement is getting very old.

i support our troops i do not however support the government that lied to us just so that a president could attempt to finish what his father could not. therefore causing our troops to be in an untenable position of struggling to stay alive or one step away from being killed by extremists.
