Yes, liberals do want us to lose the war on terror. Liberals typically feel that Israel is a mistake, and they figure if it vanishes, then we will achieve world peace. See how stupid they are?

If by losing the war you mean Iraq, we've won the war there! Bush declared us the winner when he landed on the aircraft carrier and said "Major combat operations in Iraq have ended. In the battle of Iraq, the United States and or allies have prevailed." Our armed forces did a great job and overthrew Saddam! But now we are an occupying force, and all occupations must come to an end!

There are 2 types of people in this world. You can be a herd animal that swallows the party line. Or, you can accumulate as many facts as possible and accept the truth. I discount everything politicians say.
But right now, while you defend your hero, his reckless spending has undermined your future. When he cut taxes, he knocked $445,000 off of his own taxes and $14.6 million off of Dick Cheney's taxes. How much did you save?

And they get that every YEAR!

"The War on Terror" like "The War on Drugs" like "The war on Poverty" is really a war of distraction against free thinking.
As for winning the war in Iraq, we're going to be there a long time.

Like the Shah's dictatorship we established in Iran, we only need to install a puppet government and milk it's primary resource, oil.

When you vote Republican, you cast your support for the 9 million millionaires that prosper in the USA. If you're not a millionaire yourself, then you're just another fool throwing away his future.

Whether you know it or not, you're actually better served by the Democrats, who historically have stood up for even you.

Consider, what Republican, besides Lincoln stood up for civil rights?

NOT ONE! In 150 years, NOT ONE!

How about the environment, your children are going to grow up into?
Bush Republicans raped our environment.
So when your kids ask why they have to wear masks to school, you can say it's your fault.

How about the economy? Do you know that all, 100% of the US debt has been spent by the last 4 Republican presidents! Not one dime of debt has EVER been created by a Democrat.

It's true, we don't wear $5000 Armanni suits like the Republicans because we WORK for our money!
And we don't do macho things like start wars to steal resorces, because we believe life is sacred.
We don't have time to engage in bullshit rhetoric because we're busy earning a living.
Because we care far more than our adversaries, who don't give a damn about the USA.

Wise up punk, if you have any feeling at all for AMERICA, you're on the wrong side!

All persons taking an honest, intelectual assesment of the Iragi war think we are on the losing end of it. The 'something' is that Chaney, Rumsfeld and the pilferring military complex should never have engaged in this no win guagmire. If Sadam needed to be destroyed why didn't they use the same method of bombing Israel does to Hamas, and saved the almost 3,000 American lives.

Because the administration told us would cost $4 billion and would be over in six weeks.

It's now cost $90 Billion and has lasted more than 3 years.

If it'd been over by, say 10 - 20%, I'd give him a break.

But if you went over-budget on a project at work by 2150% and the project was late by 2 and 1/2 years, I bet you'd get fired. But you know what, he failed at every business venture - so why should we expect anything else from him?

1. They focus on the emotion of the situation. They focus on the injured, number of dead, how people's lives are impacted, etc.

2. As most Americans are, they are impatient. They feel that bringing freedom and democracy to a part of the world will happen overnight. The President has not done a good job setting expectations. It took a decade to get out of Germany.

3. There are some that do not want us to win. Some liberals feel we are evil because we are prosperous. These liberals believe in income redistribution and feel capitalism is unfair. To quote Jay S on one of my questions "Equality means equality of opportunity, not equality of outcome." This sums up the conflict between conservatives and liberals

4. Some do it for politcal gain. I live in CT and have been enjoying Sen Lieberman and what is going on. Payback from him is going to hurt. He was asked on Fox News tonight about what he had to say that he was campaigning for 3 Republican House members up for reelection. Apparently, the Dems were mad. His response was "they should have thought about that before the primary." I will enjoy watching these lefties self destruct when Ned Lamont goes down in flames. BTW, Joe leads by 8 points.

There are many Dems who believe they are the ruling elite and should have their power back. They have undermined the entire war on terrorism. I believe they will pay for this in November.

Nice question.

Dumb Question!

If you really paid attention you will see that even many Republicans are fed up with this War.

The fact is, we are no better off today, than we were when this War began.

We have lost over 2500 Great Americans for nothing! Bin Laden is still free to do what he wants.

Afghanistan is beginning to fall apart again...and so on.

Because we are. We need to go in and take out cities at a time and stop playing by the rules. This is war. What happened to all's fair in love and war. Sh*t or get off the pot. When any American is deprived of his liberty, we should do whatever it takes to show the world it will not be tolerated. If an American Soldier is kidnapped, go door to door and kick it down, kill anyone that doesn't cooperate. That makes them the enemy. The liberals are really setting us up for a long-term failure. If we have to go through courts, etc. before we launch a missile, we are losing. Maybe not now, but in the long run. I think Bush is a liberal. He doesn't have the "all's fair" attitude. These folks need to be terrified of us, and they will comply with whatever we want. The casualties will be the same if we do it all at once or over years. But when we do it over years, it makes us look weak.

Oh you know us liberals, we're the cause of ALL the world's evils!!! How did you ever figure out our evil plan?? Tell us your plan for winning this war. It's easy to bad mouth people, anybody with a keyboard can do it. I want to know your thoughts on winning this war?? I'm at least open minded enough to consider what you have to say.

I am a moderate leaning toward the liberal side. Yes, we're losing this war, because we're there for the wrong reasons, we've completely mismanaged it by relying too heavily on technology and not enough soldiers and we failed to understand the culture of Iraq before going in. (No, they weren't going to welcome us by open arms. Their culture is entirely different and we're perceived as an imperial nation using our military might to effect our political and economic goals.)

One of Bush's many stated intents of the war was to bring democracy (of course, American democracy with us in good control of the economy). Do you really think democracy can be established in the framework that Iraq currently lies?

The country is a tribal one in which three groups of people (Shia, Shiite and Kurdish) battle constantly for supremecy in their respective spheres. Sadaam kept it together due to brutality and dictatorship. Once his stranglehold was broken, sectionary rivalries came to the surface and violence erupted. This is all apart from the foreign fighters who also created massive death.

Basically Iraq is in the low level civil war and all we can do is to keep a lid on it so hopefully it doesn't boil out over and spread to other nations. We have too few troops to really take control and even if we could take control, we would really be regarded as the occupiers. Then, of course, as soon as we left, it would fall apart.

The situation in Iraq is very similar to the one facing the former Yugoslavia when Tito died; ancient rivalries and animosities came to the surface and violence erupted.
