The only way to lie successfully is to master the concept of body language a.k.a body cues. I'm sure you've heard of times when people tell you they know you're lying because you can't look 'em right in the eye or because you seem nervous in your behaviour. You need to control yourself...the best way to start is by acting in your usual self E.G You don't normally wipe your forhead when you talk, don't do it when you lying. Get the drift. Also maintain a good eye contact. If you don't normally do that when speaking, then try to do it but don't make it too aggresive or obvious. When the direct eye to eye contact becomes uncomfortable for you allow yourself to scan the bridge of their nose, their cheek bones, their foreheads, their hair (above the nose tip). Be careful not to move below the nose however, as lingering on the mouth begins to directly signals mating interest (you don't want this when your boss or school principal asks you why the office/school supplies keep disappearing whenever your around ha ha aha ah). Another tip you can use is that when you're lying, if you appear to be hiding something that's a quick giveaway. A cool thing I always do is to twist the truth just a bit. In this way you admit you have some connection to whatever it is your lying about but DO NOT ADMIT ALL. Also do not tell a lie that can be easily checked. For instance in a very simple case. Let's say you have a b/g friend and s/he called you on your phone. Your dad: who was that? Don't go saying that it was some sales person when your phone has caller ID! HELLO, don't you think he's gonna say, since when have salesmen call from cell phones...or whatever.

Lying is not just verbal or always also include a body language - the eyes, your behavior (talking with your hands over your mouth), shaking your heads, coughing etc. If you can determine what body language gives you away, and you control that behavior, you can lie better.
However, I must also let you know that the worst thing about lying is 'forgetting what you lie about'. Unlike real events where you experienced and therefore commit the actions into memories, lies are created and therefore, not etched into memories. So, you may forget what you lied. As such, you have to make up more stories to cover your earlier lies. In the end, you will still be found out.
So, don't lie...always tell the truth..even if it hurts. Good luck.

Avoid it if you can, however. There are two types of lies that you can probably get away with. And in fact you probably use them in your day to day activities without even realizing it. These are lies of omission (leaving out information) and lies of embellishment (changing the magnitude of the information). An example of a lie of omission, would be if you are asked where you had been, you might say a bar to have a drink but omit the fact that the bar was a strip club. An example of a lie of embellishment is if someone asks you how are you and your response is "good" even though you may not be feeling quite up to scratch. As adults these types of lies are essential to maintaining a relatively peaceful existence with other members of society. Other types of lies such as fabrication should probably be avoided as it is likely that the truth will be found out.
So picking what you lie about is important if you are to be successful at it. The other important factor is body language.

If you are a sociopath, you absolutely believe what you think, and since you have no conscience, whatever you say is true.
If not a sociopath, then say what you believe... which is only relatively true in any case... but you must really believe it.
If you don't care about the truth, and lie consistently, then another lie will probably not register as other than the truth.
For those with a conscience, and a strong sense of honesty, try to not be in a situation where you have to lie.

There is no getting away with lying. The truth will always find you out & then you'll be ashamed so I would advise you to let the truth become a part of you & do away with all the lies.Lying is a sin that God hates (Proverbs 6:16-19) so even if you think you're fooling any man, you're definitely not fooling God & He is the one you should be worried about cuz He is the only one "which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."... "...for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed;and hid, that shall not be known."

The best lie is the one that is the most true, except for the portion which matters to you. For example, you might tell someone anything but a lie. For example, before your boss asks you why you were late you might tell him the truth, 'man, there was this awful wreck on the interstate.' That's bound to be true of some interstate, somewhere in the recent past. While you are telling truth, your body and expressions will not convey that you are lying to others.

You don't!
When you figure out this life becomes so much rewarding.
One lie leads to another and before you know it you will become in tangled in all the lies you've told to the point of being a ridicule.
I happen to know several liars and they have been at it so long that they actually believe the lies they tell until they are no longer beneficial to them and that when a new lie begins.
Most of the liars I have dealt with I already have a solid background on.

Some times I lie about totally random facts that don't matter at all, but then I tell the people that I just lied. I guess I just get bored and I think it's funny that I can actually do it. When something is important though it is much harder and I usually can't do it. Specially when I am playing a joke on someone.

It depends on the lie and it's situation.
If someone is blaming you for something that you did, but they can't prove it was you, the best thing to do is to make them feel stupid as hell- look at them like you can't believe your ears. Keep good eye contact... you could get angry because you're tired of being blamed, but that might seem kind of suspicious.
In order to lie successfully you have to be comfortable with the lie and the fact that you're decieving people. If you're not worried about the lie and you don't feel bad for lying it- you ought to be just fine.

Well I would say try it with the truth anyway... you got to have a VERY good memory if you start lying and getting caught at the end makes it worse than telling the truth in the first place, what do you think.
