What do you think the symbolism of the nautical star would be for a tattoo? To me it symbolizes finding your path in life. I would like to hear other's opinions.

Similar to the first answer given, but they can have different meanings. the meaning i am familiar with is that Nautical stars were given to sailors as a symbol of hope and guidance. As a nautical star has four main points (north, south, east, west) symbolizing the four cardinal directions, and some may have 8 points (4 main and four smaller points symbolizing secondary cardinal points). Therefore, if you are not a sailor, it would symbolize guidance for your future (ie path in life). Hope this helps

that star was tattooed onto a sailor every time he passed the prime miredian line... that is the meaning... showes where they have been
