A toss up between Failed States by Noam Chomsky, The Best Democracy Money Can Buy by Greg Palast or Fear And Loathing In America by Hunter S Thompson. All political, all thought provoking, and my first two choices, absolutley frightening.

I really liked an autobiography I read recently called As The Twig Is Bent by Bemis. It covered her childhood experiences growing up in New England in the 1930s.

Shakey: Neil Young's Biography by James Mcdonough.

A very through book showing how Neil's hard-driven personality propelled into great success, but also giving a taste of rocks infancy and adolescence though the wandering trail of one of it most influential artists.

It's a toss-up between Alicia by Alicia Appleman-Jurman about her experiences during WWll in Poland or Tuesdays With Morrie.

Both were very affecting books.

Try David Bodanis' E=Mc2... a biography of the worlds most famous equation. It was SO fascinating, and you don't have to care about physics to like it. It was really, really excellent, and extremely readable for such a weighty topic.
