Search no further...By far the best beginner guitar is the Martin LXM "Little Martin" Acoustic Guitar. It has a great deep tone and the intonation is wonderful (intonation is basically how well the guitar stays in tune as you move up the frets). I have a 10 year old niece that is playing piano now, but if she gets the urge to learn guitar, I will buy this for her. Check out the link below for more information on this great guitar and some user reviews. I recommend the Natural colored one. I have been playing 30 years and own 4 acoustics.

Ive ...answered this before.. the thing about guitars is..with a cheap..what they call beginner guitar...they do not sound good..the quality is bad..and in reality they are harder to play...
They are usually fretted high..which means the strings are harder to push down to achive a good sound on the frets..
Usually this distracts and makes the young player discouraged.
I recommend epiphone guitars for beginners...because they have what musicians call a sweet neck..its narrow easier to play..and they really sound great ofr a mid range price..
Actually Ive played guitar for 20 years..and my epiphone is still my fav to play around with...
A cheap target or walmart guitar will hurt fingers and sound bad...
Now if you can buy a used Taylor or ovation in good condition..those are great..but some ovations are fretted high as well....a baby taylor is a dream guitar but priced high...
Go for a narrow neck..strings low to the fret board...and stay away from beginner guitars..........
Hope this helps..........good luck :)~

You can spend allot on guitars..I have a collection..one of witch is an actual MINT Gretch gold anniversary edition valued at 33K (it was previously owned by a very famous musician)..BUT...You want a decent mid-range guitar. cheap ones are hard to play and when they are ready for a great one they have to relearn finger pressures.. Ibenez, Yamaha, Ovation, Gibson, Fender.. The right one will be easy to finger throughout the fingerboard that is to say the tolerance (distance from the string to the fingerboard) will very little.. prices? you're looking between 400-800.. a cheap guitar is a miserable device and she will hate it.. buy at least a decent one.. 350-600 range and ONLY buy a HARD case for it..trust me on that one

My first actual Acoustic Guitar changed into an Alvarez, laminated body. i have self assurance this one is going for more beneficial or less $2 hundred in shops, yet have self assurance me, that's genuinely extremely well worth the more beneficial funds. you'd be getting a intense high quality device, for honestly, a mind-blowing cost.

Take you're kid and have her pick it up and feel it to see if she can handle the size the make sure that she can push down the strings this will take some effort but it shouldn't take too much,do not get the cheapest one or the most expensive one on priced right in the middle like 200-500 dollars

I like the feel of a Yamaha, and an Epiphone sounds much more expensive than it is. You can find inexpensive student-quality instruments by either of these manufacturers at almost any guitar shop.
Also, check this out: http://guitar.about.com/cs/acoustic/tp/top5acoustics.htm
Of course, if you're rich, go for a Guild or Martin. They're impressive to behold. And send me one too, while you're at it.

I think Blue Ridge makes a nice guitar for the money. They're not dirt cheap, but if you have a decent guitar you'll want to play it more.
