Does anyone have any good Highschool tiping for studying, learning faster, becoming smart and open minded? I rather slacked off all elementary school but I want to come into Highschool smart and ready to learn!

1. Get organized.
2. Develop a time schedule so that you can plan time for studying.
3. Research study skills and determine which works best for you. You can make mnemonic devices to remember things (like EGBDF; Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge for the musical notes). Perhaps associating things to prior knowledge will work for some things. For me if the topic is linked to something that I previously learned then I can retrieve or remember it better.
4. Learn the best way for YOU to take notes. You can use highlighters to make important things stand out. You can use half a page and on the other half write down page numbers, etc. for when you go back to study. You can make note cards of your notes.
5. Ask teachers for help if you become lost or do not follow something.
I have a masters degree in education. My final thesis was about how we remember things. The basic idea is that you must link it to something that is already in your memory in order for it to be stored in your long term memory. Example; if learning about butterflies and metamorphosis... the teacher may talk about Superman and describe how he changes into something different. This gives you a link to put the butterfly info with. Not all teachers will do this. If you want to remember things make your own links according to things that you know in your life.

Firstly, you have to study very well at your elementary school. Ask you friends or your teacher immediately when you have a question. You learn more, you know more and you do your exam better!!!

Pay attention. That's a big one. High school isn't hard if you don't want it to be. To be smart - you just have to be willing to learn and to be open minded you just have to be willing to accept different things for how they are.
