find the file, and rename it...just backspace one of the "L"'s"...for exmaple:

file.dll change it to file.dl and it will change the file, then delete and restart...try that

or perhaps close the program you are using before uninstalling

Why delete the dll, I'm sure its not using more than a few KB's at best, Unless its a virus of course, And NO, U cant delete a file thats being used by another program, And if U do figure out a way to delete it, the other program that uses it, wont open

The easiest way to handle this is to use google type in the .dll and look at the results. If it is malicious do some research as to how to remove it. Another fairly safe way to deleting it can be done by opening the task manager and look for process that bare the user account name (these are usually non-critical) and stop them one by one and attempting to delete the DLL between stops until it gone.

Most likely it just a part of some spyware you picked up... Consider using Spybot S&D to also get rid of it.

Be carefull deleting .dll's they sometimes are used by more than one program. But sometimes the program that used them didn't uninstall properly and you do have to manually uninstall it. If you are sure that the file is safe to remove you should start the computer in safe mode (hit f8 on boot) and you should be able to delete it... (zip it up and hold onto it just in case... )

Also you probably should download and run the Ccleaner program http://www.ccleaner.com it may detect left over registry entries for the program left over from uninstall.

Four ideas in increasing order irreversability:

Try and stop/exit the program & service associated with the DLL. Then try to delete it.

Boot up in SAFE mode and try to delete it.

Boot off a bootable CD or floppy (search for bootable images on the Internet), mount your hard disk, and try.

Lastly, just install Linux and blow it all away.

Reboot, try again. Then get an active Link scanner and kill any process that’s using the new DLL – and rename it to blah.vir.

(may not help as it may auto-repair)

hi, maybe that is a virus, because most of the virus are not easy to delete. perhaps you can try Norton to remove the virus. but you need to pay for the software.

i also recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

download firefox for free:

I don't think you can. It's being used by another program- I think it's part of you whole system now.
