I've got a 96 Blazer and have had the transmission replaced twice. Mine slips every once in a while, but I'm not convinced that it's the transmission going out again. I was told that it could be a cylinoid in the transmission. Every time I take it to the shop, it never messes up for them. Have you had the transmission serviced with new gaskets or seals?

Does this happen in all forward shift patterns or reverse only? Check the a/t dip stick for the proper level and add as needed. If the dip stick fluid has a burnt toast type smell, your next stop will be your repair shop.

The bands are worn out. You need to replace the transmission or have it fixed.

My experience is to replace it. It is not worth fixing it yourself. To pay for it to be fixed is only a few dollars less than buying a new transmission.

If it is full of tranny fluid, it could have a weak front pump, could have burnt clutches, it could have a weak seal so that it won' t its pressure , which in turn won't hold the clutches inside the tranny,
