How long does it take for two flies to mate?

They were mating in the bathroom at work, and the next day they were still in the same location in the same position. How long do they take? Doesn't that seem excessive?

Flies live for weeks, not days, so your flies were either dead or not the same flies.

Fruit flies take over twenty minutes to mate.

they should have both died by then they have a day or two life span
