Me and my bff live about an hour away. She lives in a 1 story house on farmy-ish land and I have a 3 story house in the best place to live in america.(And the most expensive) She has never been over my house before and we had only talked on AIM. Her mom passed away(at 31 or 33). My bfff is only 14. After the funeral(a few weeks) She slept overmy house. Ever since, she won't talk to me and if she does all she says is, "What do you want?" I'm wondering if it could be the combination of her mother's death and our income differences?
Thanks,
Kate

You have the wrong impression of me. I hate bringing people to my house because they always say, "YOU'RE SO RICH!!!!!" The only reason I mentioned that was because I felt it might be important for finding an accurate answer!!!! I mean, it's nice being a little spoiled, but everyone makes me feel like I should be poor or something, that I don't deserve it. :( I swear, I don't take anything forgranted. I donate money to many organizations and help the homeless.

Where is this Most Expensive Place in America that you speak of?
And maybe things like that is the reason she won't talk to you. You show off your $$$$$$ a little too much.
**************************
First, if you don't want people to get the wrong impression of you then don't say things like I live in the richest area of America. I'm from Long Island and let me tell you, in The Hampton's a little one bedroom, rundown shack on a very small piece of property goes for a mil there. And for the record, I do not live in that area.
OK, you feel uncomfortable about your money. Stop feeling uncomfortable about it. Sometimes people just grow apart. And another thing is that if you guys only communicated through IM, things change when you meet in person. You may not be what she expected, or just the friendship may be different then what she expected in person.
If you want to leave a line of communication open for her, write her a nice email (or letter if you have her home address) saying that you enjoy her company and you understand her grieving her mothers death and time needed alone, but you are here anytime she needs someone to talk to. And then let it be. Don't hound her.

It cool about what you said, but sometime when you say things like that you act that way too. you know, Miss. goody, I live in a big house all my life and my parents even thou they don't have me, left me money, my foster parents had big homes too. I know from experience when your friends live in small house and don't have as much sometime ,you act different. I think she not talking to you because of something you might have said when she spent the night. trace your steps and you should be able to see what you did and why she not talking to you.
If you both was friends, you probably was not supporting her like you should have.
if you want to talk to her again you should start out with saying I'm sorry if i said or done anything to hurt you when you were at my house. Get her something nice and take her to have fun, some place she likes. be their for her and be a true friends. Stop worrying about what she doesn't have and what you do have. if she's your friend what you both have or don't have should not matter. Her mom just die this is when she need you the most.

Your friend reminds me of my friend. Her mother died when she was around the age eleven or twelve. Best friends to sometimes stray away. Talk to her about it. Don't try to change her, though, because that will put too much pressure on her, and make her think that it's all about you. Be there for her, but give her some time to herself. Don't smother her. I used to do that to Ali (my bff) without realizing it. Just don't stress over her. Call her once a week or IM her twice a week to check up on her and see how her life is.

After seeing where you stay your friend may be a little jealous.Even not meaning to you may act a little snooty like some rich people do.If your friendship with this girl is really important to you go to her and tell her. After doing that and if she still doesn't talk to you then you will just have to move on.

She's probably feels inferior to you. Because you have all the things you say have and she doesn't. She probably is jealous. Jealousy can break up friends, trust me. I don't think you're trying brag or anything. I understand where you're coming from.

ooo this is bad,,, she is in what you would call a "false scence of depression", she needs immediate attention,, she has wrapped her mind around the loss of her mother, and needs a therapist or as her "bfffffffff" some activities with you and all of your friends or this could lead to anorexia, bulimia or other eating disorders. also drugs, alchahol ect. you need to stop this before it realy begins!!!
