nokia - for the design!

This depends, both the companies have their targeted markets, and specific set of goals to achieve, so as to satisfy their targeted class.

Take Nokia, it's models are more toward user friendlyness and easy to use. However Motorola targets looks, those flip and swivel phones are slick, a teenager would love motorola SLVR or RAZR, while a mature would go towards nokia as more elegant design and ease of use.

So it all depends what you like, if say you are a business man you might go for a Communicator or a blackberry, but a college student will definetly go for a RAZR or SLVR, again depends on likes and dislikes of customer.

Nokia was initially more targeted towards asian region, while motorola specifically targets US market first where looks is the most important thing. So, in my opinion it depends on what you like.

I own a nokia 9500 and a Sony Ericsson z525a. ;) no motorola. but still the looks of motorola are no way comparable to nokia, motorola rocks at that, while in ease of use and elegant designs Nokia outclasses Motorola.

Hope this helps
Cheers.

I always had Nokia's, i had a Motorola V3 flipfone (for about a month until i sold it) and the software was absolute rubbish. The fisrt V3 i had didn't even work properly. I read in a news article somewhere that Motorola has got the highest 'call back' rate. ie. products that have been sent back because they are faulty

NOKIA IS THE BEST !

I have a motorola but pretty much grew up on nokia. You can't go wrong with Nokia because you're right, they are the best when it comes to reception.

Motorola's are generally better looking than Nokia's but Nokia's have less problems.

Well, Motorolla has been around the longest in the US anyway (remember the Motorolla brick phones on Miami Vice back in the day?).

Motorola. They have better phones, look at the SLVR but I hate their RAZR. Nokia has terrible and hard-to-use phones. Some of them dont even have color and they are new.

I'd go w/ Nokia. Motorola has a lot of software glitches. My last phone was Motorola and I had to exchange it THREE times.
