I Hope You're Happy Now - Elvis Costello (drips with sarcasm)
I'm Not Down - The Clash
Train In Vain - The Clash
Joy - Lucinda Williams
Good Person Inside - Jill Sobule
Don't Think Twice It's All Right - Bob Dylan (another great sarcastic lyric)

Well...my favourite breakup song is neither rock nor metal, but it's still very good: '5 years' by Björk.

Older songs might include "Hit the Road, Jack" by Ray Charles, "50 ways to leave your lover" by Paul Simon, "You Left me, Just When I Needed you Most" by Randy Van Ormer, "You're my Favorite Mistake" by Cheryl Crowe. A good Country break-up song in my opinion is "He thinks he'll Keep her" by Mary Chapin-Carpenter. Eric Clapton had a good one but I can't remember it right now. I think it was something like "I've got a problem". I hope this helps.
