U know... I heard so many people saying like, "Norton sucks, and McAfee is good." And I hear that McAfee and Norton is both bad. And now, I hear people saying Avast Home edition is good, but how can a free one be better? And I hear that Zonealarm is better than the others from people, but I hear that Zonealarm sucks from other people... Antivirus these days are hard to determine which is better... PC magazine said that Norton was their all-time favorite... What the heck is the best one??? I do not care about the cost... I just want the best one!!!!

They all have their strong points and weak points. Lots of people are very territorial when it comes to discussing virus scanners. My suggestion is to just try them out and see which one you like using best. Most come with a free 30 day trial.
I have used them all. My personal favorites are either Windows One Care or Trend Micro PC-Cillin. Neither require much maintenance once you install them. Windows One Care is almost completely transparent and you don't even realize that it's on your computer. With Trend Micro PC-Cillin, I really liked the virus scanner, but the firewall was sometimes difficult to use and configure. I have not tried this year's version, so they may have made some improvements to their interface.
I have had issues with McAfee, Symantec/Norton, and ZoneAlarm. None of those products were very transparent. I was constantly receiving notifications that I could not disable, or the program would crash, or my computer would run considerably slower. Of the three, I liked Symantec/Norton's user interface the best.
Cnet (http://www.cnet.com) is a good place for reviews. They usually have a special antivirus comparison review each year.

There isn't really a best one. The best antivirus is the one that meets your needs and doesn't interfere with your day to day working.
The reason some people don't like Norton is because it has a record of breaking things in Windows. Bad updates can reset your Internet settings or block you from getting email.
And Avast also has paid for editions. Also, just because it costs more, or isn't free, doesn't mean that it is better.

*Avast is the best that's out there. It's free and from their point of view
avast! 4 Home Edition is a full-featured antivirus package designed exclusively for home users and non-commercial use. Both of these conditions should be met! Our company offers the Home Edition free of charge, since, in our
opinion, it is possible to avoid global virus spreading by efficient prevention; however, many users are not able to or do not want to pay for antivirus software. This page will show you the most important features of this program.

The best. There are so many different Anti-Virus programs, and they all say they are better than the other. I have always found the free programs to work better. One can be found http://www.trendmicro.com. That program actually allows you to scan your computer for free and check for viruses. Now the only problem with that program would be that it does not stay running 24/7 a day, and you have to go check everyone once in awhile. I personally like the program the shield located at http://diycomputertips.com/Shield/ShieldDeluxe.html we have always promoted this software and have never had any problems. Plus you get unlimited technical support if you have issues with it. We have put together a series of 8 videos that shows clients how to protect there system completely from any viruses, spyware, adware and security issues. To learn more about those videos please visit the link on our webpage that says KILL SPYWARE FOREVER!
Well hopefully this all works for you. If you ever have any questions please feel free to visit our free technical support forum.

well, Norton is the leading antivirus program... it gets the job done.
I personally prefer ZoneAlarm, because it gives you more control, and whenever something happens--it notifies my right a way. I had no problems what so ever with it.
So it is really up to you to decide.
