It would be a huge invasion of privacy and the day that happens is the day that everyone rebels against the government. If they try to implant a chip in me there will be hell to pay! The only advantage I could see would apply to the very small percentage of the population who commit crimes and then run away. That is a very small percentage and wouldn't be good for the rest of us. However, I could see implanting microchips into every convict ever to go into jail or get probation, that would just be a more advanced way of fingerprinting and I am sure it could be on the horizon. But, of course, the criminals could not be able to know they have this chip in them or, as mentioned earlier, they could dig it out. Maybe if it was implanted into the blood stream as a cell size microchip they couldn't dig it out. As long as the microchip is very small then they couldn't dig it out. They would really only be able to dig out a fairly large microchip, anything smaller would be improbable to dig out. Also anything controlled by authority WILL NOT make this world safer, actually it would make it the contrary, worse.

No it would not. People would remove their implant or (for large amounts of cash) trade it to someone else. Unscrupulous and sadistic criminals would probably cut it out of its rightful owner and use for their own purposes.
Not to mention the "Big Brother" world it would create. Read the novel by G. Orwell "1984". The government would be able to trace your every movement.

That's exactly what they want you to believe. Sounds like they'll be able to control people's thoughts and actions this way. All who get the chip will become slave robots of the new world order, and Antichrist. That's not to mention the lake of fire.

Good Lord NO! They can already track you via satellite with your drivers license, they already know everything you purchase with your debit card and those neat little shopping cards the grocers and pharmacies give you. They listen to your telephone conversations (not that I have anything to hide). I'd like to at least think I can go the the bathroom without someone knowing exactly where I am and if I'm going number one or two.

Absolutely not. This sounds like Big Brother from George Orwell's 1984.

First they gave us numbers, promising not to use them as Id's.
Then they were used as Id's
Then they registered our money.
Then they registered our jobs.
Then they registered our guns
When they came for our guns it was for safety.
When they came for our money it was for protection.
When they came for our kids it was for freedom.
When they came for our freedoms it was for our own good.
When they come for our lives, we won't have anything else to fight with.

Safer? Hell no. Unless we do it to the politicians only.
Remember what Hitler did to the Jews? Same thing.

Yeah, that's Orwell alright.
Now here's the thing: If you could increase police presence to the point of having zero crime, would you want that? Why not just assign EVERYONE a jail cell - wouldn't we all be safe then? (No butt-reaming jokes, please.)
